he benches once a week and does board work every other week. Because of the weight and tensions that Joe handles on a relatively small frame, he tends to get tendonitis in his forearms. When holding onto the bar he will get sharp pains throughout his forearms. So, I suggested he skip the board work following his ME bench workout. Not doing 2 band workouts within several days of each other has pretty much eliminated the pain in his arms. And this has not effected his strength at all, the additional rest has actually helped. Does Joe work his forearms? I used to have the same problems and took the advice from Kennelly and started working my forearms like crazy and the problem has gone away. Also seemed to help with stabalizing the bar with heavy loads. Also have him ice forearms as much as possible after work outs that will also help!

I'll have to ask Joe. He does a workout during the week at a gym near his home, some push downs, pull-ins, pull downs. Not sure if he specfically works his forearms or if he ice's them. Thanks for the info., I will pass it along to Joe. What forearm exercises did you do? Joe has no problem with stabilizing the bar, bands took care of that, just gets zinger's in the forearms.

Hammer Curls should be numer one for him. Twice a week, 4x8. The brachialis is actually what stabalizes the forearm and controls the descent of the bar. Also a forearm roller. All it is is a piece of pvc pipe and some rope with weight on the end. Roll it up fast and unroll it slow. When I was training with you my forearms hurt so bad that I started again with the hammer curls and forearm roller and that helped out a lot.

I train forearms once a week. Usually hit one exercise of bi-ceps and then move into hammer curls for 5 sets of 12 reps, weighted wrist rope 6 sets, dumbell wrist curls 5 sets, and 4 to 5 sets or standing barbell reverse wrist curls. Fore arms are usuall y on fire at the end of the work out. Rob Luyando

Do you think doing the reverse bands before shirt work takes anything away from the ME shirt work?

Another great workout for Joe today. His weight is down to 169. He just crushed his raw set, he made 415 x 3 look easy. We actually think he has a shot at 450 in 2 weeks at the Olympia. He handled his touch set with 725, but with the added weight loss his shirt is to loose right now. He moved 725 close to 3/4 of the way up. I think he'll have a legit shot at 750 at Carp's meet in Jan based on what he is doing now at 169. We are all excited about the Olympia in 2 weeks, Joe is looking very strong.
