a little background on me...
prior to starting JA, i was on MM and WSB like freak was and me and him were both hammering 500 on bench at the time too. i started JA on march of 2004. with these lifts:
squat: 550
bench: 500
dead: 633
bw: 270
i started JA because of seeing charlie telesco, bob feeney, and wayne derousse's progress on it...
after finishin up wave 1 i had a 725 for 2 squat, 585 bench, and 675 dead. but doin wave 2 really kicked my lifts into high gear...can only be excited about what wave 3 brings...
keep in mind, i had shoulder problems late last year and now finishing up wave 2 of JA, its been better than last year. i also noticed that my lifting is a lot more explosive than before. and i also found out that i'm goin to be a big squatter as well... the dbl band tension has been really helping on my squats and bench and speakin of which...the band tensions i'm doin now i never would of thought of doin earlier this year...but i'm doin it and to my surprise with ease...and with a bit of modification on deads, i'm goin to be a big puller as well. dbl tension on bench and squat has helped a whole lot...with all the band tension i've handle, it doesn't even compare to using just straight weight...its an awesome feeling when 600 on bench and 700+ on squats don't feel heavy to ya...
this program has exceeded all of my expectations in every way. when i started gettin results i passed it onto freak and later, tank. everytime i step into the gym for a JA workout, i'm in the mindset of breaking a PR and that has helped my confidence greatly. this program has build my strength so fast its unbelieveable. now finishin up wave 2, i've destroyed my old PRs from the first wave. a year ago, i benched 500 and this year i was repping it for 8 reps....as well as 555 and this year i just repped 605 for 5 reps. my hands are shaking as i'm typing this but i'm that excited for wave 3. i also destroyed my squat PR which was 725 for 2 with 715 for 5 reps. my deads have really surprised me when i did 650 for 5 reps...that blew me away...next year, i'm really expecting to total elite in the 308s as well as a 900 squat, 700 bench, and 700+ dead...and thus far i'm using a dbl denim bench shirt and a z-suit....at 290...here's what i've done recently:
715 for 5 on squats
605 for 5 on bench
650 for 5 on deads
bw: 290
WSB and MM are awesome programs...don't get me wrong but JA rules!! i've gained so much on this program it would be crazy for me to go BACK to anything else...not only that but i found myself stronger on other things as well and doin things i didn't do last year...all thanx to this amazing program!!
even though Gene has his own program, he used JA to gain quite a bit on his bench before he changed over...but as freak mentioned, "don't knock something unless u try it". i speak about JA to everyone now cause the shit works. jim has helped me tons...even when he thought i was slacking...LOL! but the program is awesome and i really don't see myself using anything else cause it works that well. jim is an awesome lifter and i hope to get the chance to train with this SOB someday as well...#nosmileys
