I just turned 32 years old. I'm still in the recovery phase from September '02 when I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Decease (3 more years). I started power training and the JA system in January '04. I have had a rough road coming back and have had some set backs with my lower body. I have actually only been training for 1 year total since coming returning to lifting in general.
I have yet to max on Squat and Dead Lift due to injuries, keeping that in mind I pulled a 625 in training and squatted 700x5 in two separate training cycles. Two weeks from now I'll be attempting to squat 735 for reps (hopefully 5). Last cycle I bench 605 for a max and barely missed 620. This past Wednesday I benched 515 for 3 and this is the first time I've training with anything over 500 lbs. I'll admit I have trained in the past (started lifting at age 15) and used steroids(early twenties), but after being sick and going through 8 months of Chemo I was reduced to nothing and starting over from scratch!
I am very please with the results and look forward to even more success in the future. The statement I tell my training partners all the time is "I can't explain why, but it just works". If I can have success, then anyone can!
I also believe that Jim has really helped me with this system; he answers all my questions, is very honest and helps me emotionally when my spirits get down. Thank you, Jim for all your effort and feedback.
