I'm getting alot of questions about when to change bands. I'll post on what my rule of thumb for me personally is, but everyone has to figure out what's best for themselves according to there size and strength. ME Squat: when I can do 3 plates, 325 or so for 2-3 reps with a certain band combination, then I will do a band increase, drop bar weight and work back up to 3 plates.
ME Bench: when I can get to 185 - 205 for 2-3 reps, then I can handle a band increase.
Tri's- I like my bar weight up into the low 100's.
DL: this will never change. Cycles 1&2, smalls. Cycles 3&4 mini's regardless of how high the bar weight gets.
Now, this post is for beginner's. You might look at my log and see that my bar weight is higher than these recommendations. As beginner's, it's important that you develop your band strength. Once your band strength is high enough, this will then enable you to set up a band rotation. As I progress through my band rotations, my first mini cycle, my bar weight may be pretty high but as I progress through my mini-cycles, the bands increase and the bar weight drops. It's all about learning to cycle your training and your system.
