I pull my wrists in, thumb around the bar, wrist, forearms and elbows under the bar or I at least try to do that. Bringing my wrist's in is stressful on my shoulders, I stretch my shoulder area out before each squat workout. I can get through my free weight set to failure and max effort squat no problem. But, on free weight day I then do all my speed work with a safety squat bar. Getting in and out of the bar for 8 sets of 2 reps with a reg bar was more than my shoulders could handle.

wrists, hands same thing. I pull my hands in as close as I can and wrap my thumbs around the bar. my hands are way in from the J hooks.

Hey Jim just a little update, I was goofing around today after my workout and did everything I was supposed to, and the low bar is a billion times better, I thought I might have like the high bar but its just so god damn high, even 135 hurts to rest on there, so low bar is the way to go, and plus I don't know why I even contemplated this, I just squatted 500 raw and deep last week with a low bar and everything and now I am just trying to mess things up, anyway, thanks for the help man.

Mike (mjc1021) squats raw with a conventional stance (when he shows up). When he started with us he set the bar up high, he was okay until the bar weight got up into the higher 600's and 700's and the weight forced him over. We had him lower the bar and he tripled 735 with just knee wraps and a conventional stance. When he shows up is the key I'll be back, I just have to adjust to the schedule. Haven't squatted since my last SSB workout and hit 675x1 no wraps with that bodybuilding belt on and walked it out! 18 days off and didn't lose much!

see you soon. Jon did real well tonight benching. He's going to hit 600 real soon, just super strong, shirt is dialed in perfectly.
